Uzbekistan's cotton sector transformation, powered by Indorama

Indorama Corporation established FE “Indorama Agro” LLC in Uzbekistan in 2018 to accelerate the development and modernization of the cotton-farming sector. We operate in the Kashkadarya and Sirdarya regions—areas known for productive agriculture and extensive irrigated croplands—supported by reliable infrastructure, skilled farm workers, and steady irrigation.

Our operations span more than 56,000 hectares under direct farming for cotton, wheat, barley, and other crops. We also collaborate with independent local farmers and procure cotton from them through our contract farming model. Our ginning capacity currently processes 1,200 tons per day of seed cotton.

Monitoring by International Financial Institutions

In the initial years, International Financial Institutions monitored us through annual site visits, stakeholder consultations, and report reviews against their performance standards and requirements. They assessed our E&S risks, labour practices, governance, and community impacts.

ESG Governance

Our governance structure is designed for effective and transparent business conduct.

Focus on Fixes

We turn issues into time-bound CAPs, track closure rates, verify remediation with re-checks, and publish progress.

How We Manage Our Compliances

To manage our risks and compliance, we follow stringent measures to ensure environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards are met. Compliance includes adherence to local and international regulations, risk assessment for sustainable operations, and a proactive approach to managing environmental and social impacts, labour practices, and operational health and safety. Our approach is further backed by internationally recognised ISO certifications — ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 26000, 37001, and 50001 — demonstrating our commitment to quality, environmental management, workplace safety, social responsibility, anti-bribery, and energy efficiency.
